Terms of Use

Last updated: August 20, 2026

Who this is for: anyone reading slingautomation.com, signing up for the free 5-day course, or booking the free Discovery Call.

Paid work is a separate conversation. After the call, if there's a fit, you get a scoped hours estimate in writing. That writing — not this page — is what we both work from.

The short version

  • Discovery Call is free.
  • After that, we bill by the hour.
  • You own the code.
  • Hourly, no lock-in.
  • We will tell you if AI is not the answer.

This page is the longer, still-plain-English version of how the site works. It is not a 14-page master services agreement, and it is not a substitute for the estimate we send you if we work together.

Who we are

Sling Automation LLC. Founder: Kyle Crone. Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Built for Front Range SMBs first.

Email: kyle@slingautomation.com

First reply within 24 business hours. Usually faster. Meeting slots are Tuesday through Friday, Mountain Time.

What this site is

A brochure, a booking calendar, and a free five-day course.

It is not legal, tax, accounting, or investment advice. It is not a promise that AI will work for your shop. Sometimes the honest answer is a checklist and a better spreadsheet. We say that on the About page because we mean it.

Case studies, timelines, and dollar figures on the site describe specific engagements. Yours will not match them exactly. If a number matters to you, ask for it on the call.

The Discovery Call

Thirty minutes. Free. No deck. No pitch. Kyle takes it.

You describe the problem. We ask questions. We tell you straight whether Sling fits, or whether AI fits at all. If there's a fit, you get a scoped hours estimate, billed by the hour, with the rate shared on the call in writing. If there isn't, we say so. We do not start a follow-up drip either way.

Booking uses Calendly. By booking, you are asking us to put you on the calendar and to use the details you typed so we can show up prepared. You can cancel or move the slot in Calendly the way you would any other meeting.

We will sign an NDA before any sensitive details are shared. We have a standard mutual NDA we can send within an hour of the call request, or we can work with yours. Most of what we discuss on Discovery does not need one. We will not push you to share before the paper is set.

The call is not a contract to buy anything.

The free 5-day course

One email a day for five days. Practical AI for SMB operators. Free.

You sign up with an email. You can unsubscribe on any message. Unsubscribe kills it instantly. There is no day-6 sequence.

The lessons, prompt templates, and homework are ours to publish. You can use them in your own business. You cannot copy the course and sell it as yours, or imply that finishing five emails makes you "Sling-certified." We do not certify people. The Champion Cohort is a paid program with its own page.

If a lesson is wrong, stale, or broken, email Kyle. We will fix the next send. We do not refund the zero dollars you paid us, which the Education page already jokes about, and which is still the deal.

If we work together (the paid part)

This is the shape the rest of the site already promises. We put it here so the Terms match the marketing.

  1. The call is free. Everything after that is billed by the hour: audit, foundations, build, education programs that are not the free course.
  2. You see the math first. We estimate hours before each stage. The rate is shared on the call, in writing. If we are going to blow the estimate, we stop and talk before we keep billing.
  3. You own what we build. Source, data, credentials, the thing running in your environment. We do not hold your repo hostage.
  4. No lock-in. Ongoing work is hourly, not a contract you have to buy your way out of. You can pause. The Framework page already says you can stop via the COS. We will not invent a termination fee on this page that the rest of the site already ruled out.
  5. One name on the invoice. Specialists, when we need them, contract with Sling. You are not handed a partner firm mid-stream.
  6. The written estimate controls. If this page and the estimate ever disagree, the estimate wins for that engagement.

Education programs past the free course (workshop, executive briefing, AI Champion Cohort, custom programs, office hours) are described on /education. Cohort price, class size, Slack window, and the "refund if the graduation project does not ship" promise live there. We do not silently change those from a footnote on this page.

Client confidentiality is the point of the NDA, not a slogan. We do not use your internal numbers as a public case study unless you agree.

What is ours

The site itself — copy, design, the Sling name, the slingshot mark, the Sling AI Framework, the course lessons, the general methods — is Sling's. Read it. Share a page with a colleague. Do not copy the site, scrape it for a clone, or pass our course off as your product.

A Framework we reuse across clients is still ours. The working tool we shipped in your repo is yours.

Using the site like an adult

Do not: break or overload the site; scrape it in a way that knocks it over; submit someone else's email to the course; use the booking calendar to spam slots; try to get into /api/ or /preview/ just because robots.txt mentioned them; use anything here to pretend you are Sling, or that we endorse you.

We can refuse a booking, remove an email from the course, or shut off access if you are abusing the site. We will say so.

Other people's tools

Calendly runs the calendar. Vercel hosts the site. Cloudflare runs the course signup. Claude, and the rest of the toolbox on the Education page, are other companies' products.

If we use a tool on a paid engagement, we pick it with you. Those vendors have their own terms. We do not hide a second consulting firm behind them.

No warranty on a free website

The site and the free course are provided as-is. We work hard to keep them accurate. We do not warrant that the site will be up every minute, that a prompt template will survive the next model update, or that following a homework assignment will produce a business result.

Paid work is different: we scope it, we estimate it, we show up, we ship. The standard for that work is whatever we both signed. It is not this paragraph.

If something goes wrong

If the site is down, email Kyle.

If we are in a paid engagement and something is off, say so on the weekly check-in. The Framework already says we eat rework when we misjudged our own estimate. We will not use this page to wriggle out of that.

For the site and the free course, Sling is not liable for lost profits, lost data, or consequential damages that come from reading a web page or receiving five emails. The site is free. That is the bargain.

For paid work, the written estimate is the document that matters. This page does not invent a dollar cap, and it does not wipe out liability we cannot waive under Colorado law (including, where it applies, liability for our own fraud or willful misconduct).

If a piece of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest still stands.

Colorado / United States

Sling Automation LLC is based in Colorado, United States. The site is aimed at US businesses, Front Range first.

These Terms are governed by Colorado law, without a fight about which state's laws apply. If we ever end up in a real dispute about the website or the free course, the venue is the state or federal courts in Colorado. Paid work can name a venue in the estimate if it needs to be more specific.

Changes

We can update these Terms. The date at the top will change. The live page is the current one. If you keep using the site after an update, you are using it under the new page. We will not use a silent Terms rewrite to add lock-in that the rest of the site already promised we do not have.

If we take you on as a client, changing this page does not rewrite your estimate.
